    Here we have a
fossil horn coral plate  - caninia coral, from , greenwood county kansas.  The tag says Greenwood county and as detailed as it is, I believe it to be accurate. The catalog entry notes the town of Augusta which is in Butler County and is about 20 miles from the Greenwood county line. I take it from this that the fossil came out of that corner of Greenwood county that is closest to Augusta.
What is unique about this is that some of the heads or crowns are intact. Another unusual thing is that the bottom is water worn and it shows the cross-sections of the horn coral. To me, this natural edge is much better than a sawn edge.
This  is  dusty from 50 years of storage.
This will cost  to box and ship and a good portion of the asking price is simply for shipping. This is basically for this large fossil and for shipping.   I checked and this will fit inside a medium flat rate box with about a half-inch on each side for padding.  It would be possible to add other small items to said box but not much or anything heavy. Do consider that the shipping costs are included in the asking price under the forced disingenuous guise of "free shipping".
Weight:  2.21 Kilograms or 4 pounds 14 ounces.  Approx. size: 6" diameter x 3 inch thick at widest point.
This could probably be cleaned to reveal a mostly white fossil.  A few hours in "iron out" solution on a warm day would most likely fix this one right up. "Iron Out" is available at Wal-Mart and is inexpensive and is easy and safe to use.
This particular fossil will come with the old original label as well as my custom label.
I have lots and lots of fossils but am not a fossil fan. If I didn't have to ship them I could make someone a great deal on a large quantity of them. If anyone is interested in traveling to pick up a fossil collection then message me and I will make the listing.
The asking price is subject to increase at any time.
This is from the estate collection of Donna Bailey who resided in Overland Park, Kansas and who actively collected minerals from 1962 thru approx. 1980.   She numbered and cataloged every specimen.
    .
All specimens were added to her collection prior to 1981.
The collection consisted of over 800 cataloged specimens. I am listing many specimens from the collection which is truly wide and varied. Be sure to check out my other listings and keep in mind that
I add new things every day
    .
This ships boxed and with a nice DIXIE EUHEDRALS branded specimen label.
This is an incredibly beautiful specimen and I am quite confident that whomever gets it will be very pleased.  It can be returned for any reason if you are not delighted with it.
