    Description

This beautiful Petoskey Stone has been polished to a high gloss. Petoskey Stones are primarily found in Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. This beauty was picked up in Petoskey, Michigan this spring on the shores of Little Traverse Bay. They make great souvenirs and are very famous collector's items in this region of Michigan. Petoskey Stones are complete fossilized coral colony heads that were formed as a result of glaciation, in which sheets of ice plucked stones from the bedrock, grinding off their rough edges and depositing them in the northwestern portion of Michigan's lower peninsula millions of years ago during the Devonian Period. See pictures for size and front and back of stone.
The stone in the picture is the stone that you will receive and will be carefully packaged
