    Description

Photos don't do this item justice! A spectacular 2 piece fossil coral geode from Georgia. One side exposes a deep pocket of small botryoidal formations composed of pale agate that is coated with micro druzy.  Hold this piece to the light; it will take your breath away. The opposite side is a complete geode made of botryoidal formations composed of thick translucent agate coated in matte common opal. The edges of this side fluoresce nicely under UV black light. Lots to look at and study. Outside shows the structure of the ancient coral.  Very interesting piece. You will not be disappointed. This is a real collector's item.
An excellent addition to a fossil, rock, or mineral collection.  Photos taken dry.
    Approx overall measurements are 3" x 3.5" x 4" and weight is over 1 lb 10 oz.
Georgia fossil coral is approx. 25-45 million years old, is around 7 on the Moh's scale, and is highly prized for jewelry and lapidary work.
I'm out there collecting and cutting these great rocks myself and writing about it at zookeeperfossils on Blogger.  eBay sales help support my rockhounding habit.
COMBINED SHIPPING IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE and I will refund excess postage through PayPal when needed.
