Antique White Ironstone Brougham Mayer VIRGINIA SHAPE Sauce Tureen 1855 Scarce.
This shape was potted by Brougham & Mayer, and registered in 1855, the same year the potter went out of business. This sauce tureen has its under plate and lid; the ladle that accompanies it is probably not the original. There is general crazing throughout, but no chips or cracks are found. There is light staining behind one handle on the tureen. The under plate is stamped with the registration diamond.
