    Description

    This is a lovely little antique Limoges SAUCE TUREEN / Mustard Pot - decorated with Lavender DAISIES and lots of GOLD scrolls.  The shape is oval with a scalloped edge - The lid is notched and the underplate attached -Topped with a floral finial!
    A similar piece is shown on page 229 of Collectors Encyclopedia of Limoge Porcelain (third edition) by Mary Frank Gaston - described as a  "Sauce Tureen, small size for mustard or other condiments, with underplate:..."  Made by Lanternier - Marks 4 & 6.
    Marks
    :  in green - Limoges, A anchor L, France (mark #4).  in red - Limoges, A.Lanternier, France (mark #6). These marks were used from 1891-1914.
